The Lily Pad: A Cozy Shipping Container Cabin

This contemporary cabin is built of a shipping container and indoor and outdoor areas are placed under the same roof

Cabins are all the rage right now, and we just can’t get enough of this free-spirited living that they provide, that’s why we keep sharing gorgeous cabins. Called The Lily Pad, this little cabin is located in Logan, Ohio and is surrounded by wooded land.

It’s a small shipping container house with only one bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a tiny living area but even so it feels quite open thanks to the large windows and the strong connection with the outdoors. The bedroom is very small but also really cozy. It has a full-height window which opens up the room and frames a nice view of the forest. The rest of the spaces are combined into open floor area. A motorized garage door made out of glass serves as a connector between the indoor and the outdoor spaces.

The angled roof actually extends at the front and covers up the porch. Out here there are even more amenities. There’s a swing bed on one side which is a really cool and fun feature. There’s also a hot tub on the opposite side of the porch, sheltered by the extended roof. Off to the side and in the open there’s a fire pit and a little seating area around it. All thing considered, although this is a small structure it offers all the necessary amenities and features and more in a really nice and complete package.
