The actress gave an inside look into the distant relationship between the Top Gun star and his 16-year-old daughter.

Brooke Shields has revealed that, after 10 years of receiving Tom Cruise’s famous Christmas cake, she was cut off the list.

The actress does not know “what happened” but says she no longer receives the celebrated $A187 coconut bundt cake that Cruise sends to his nearest and dearest each December.

But having been a recipient of the gift for so long, Shields observed that the Top Gun actor removed his daughter Suri’s name from the senders’ list.

“I got the coconut cake every year, which I was very happy (about),” Shields told People of the tradition, which began when Cruise would send the cake from himself, his then-wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri, who is now 16.

“It was from (Tom and Katie) and Suri (at first), so it was the three of them.

“Then soon it was no Suri and no Katie and just Tom.

“Then it went from just Tom for a while, but not every holiday.

“And then the cake stopped.”

Every December, Cruise buys many of the expensive coconut cakes from Doan’s Bakery in California and each cake comes with a note from the actor and a Christmas tree decoration.

“I want to get back on that cake list. It’s the best cake,” Shields said.

“Tom, I need to be back on the cake list.”

Cruise and Holmes divorced in 2012 after five years of marriage when Suri was just five-years-old – reportedly because of Holmes’ reluctance to raise their daughter under Scientology.

Shields added that the cake changes happened only in recent years, following the messy split.

An insider recently claimed that Cruise has not seen his daughter in a long time and the father-daughter duo has a very distant relationship, Daily Mail reports.

Cruise “plays no part” in his daughter’s life, although he will pay her college tuition fees as dictated by his divorce agreement with Holmes.

“Being raised by a single mum in New York has made Suri who she is,” the insider said.

“Katie has always put Suri first and Suri loves her mum more than anything.

“She is a smart girl, and she is turning into a very intelligent, mature woman.

“She has a very close group of loyal friends, and she knows exactly where she comes from.”

The source said Holmes was very protective of her teenaged daughter.

“Katie takes great pride in her but is also extremely overprotective,” the source said.

“Suri is applying to schools all over the place. (Katie) really does want her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other.”

Cruise, 60, and Holmes, 44, were an incredibly high-profile couple in the early 2000s.

Cruise famously jumped up and down on a couch when talking about Holmes on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005.

“I’m in love! I’m in love!” he yelled, throwing fist pumps into the air.

“I can’t be cool. I can’t be laid back.

“It’s something that has happened, and I feel I want to celebrate it.

“I want to celebrate her. She’s a very special woman.”

While Cruise reportedly hasn’t seen Suri since 2013, he is understood to have a good relationship with children Isabella, 30, and Connor, 28, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

Cruise and Kidman were married from 1990 to 2001.

Kidman married country music star Keith Urban in 2006, and the couple has two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret
