Becoming a mother is a desire of many women, certainly not all, but motherhood is a very important phase in the female world. Sometimes the road is not as simple as one might think, there are many stories of women who are unable to have children and have to seek ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄᴀʟ help or think about adoption.

Manda Epton, 54, from Sydney, Australia, spent a lot of money and even more energy on I.V.F until she gave birth to her twin daughters in August 2018.

However, her sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇ to become a mom has made her appreciate the gift of motherhood even more and she now makes the most of every second with her girls, unlike the younger moms she sees spending hours on their phones, as stated.

“I feel that at 54 I am a little wiser, even if some people tell me that I am too old to be a mother. I spend more time playing with them at the park or doing fun activities instead of ignoring them and being on my phone,” said the happy mom, adding: “I had a pretty difficult pregnancy because of their age, but both my girls came out perfectly happy and healthy.”

Manda was 39 when she started ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛs, although she had not yet found the man with whom she would start a family. Years passed and, after never meeting a suitable father for her children, she decided to go it alone with the help of a sᴘᴇʀᴍ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ and an ᴇɢɢ ᴅᴏɴᴏʀ through I.V.F.

At 43, her ɢʏɴᴇᴄᴏʟᴏɢɪsᴛ referred her to a ᴘsʏᴄʜᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴀᴘɪsᴛ to help her come to terms with the idea that she would probably never have children. She, however, did not give up and continued the efforts until in 2017 she managed to get pregnant.

“I went for my seven-week ᴜʟᴛʀᴀsᴏᴜɴᴅ worried I was going to ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀʏ as I had some ʙʟᴇᴇᴅɪɴɢ. My joy, however, was enormous when they told me that I was expecting twins,” said the woman. “Today, I spend as much time as I can with my daughters and try to be by their side all the time. Sticking to being a mom, even after 50, is the best decision I’ve ever made.”
